B. <br />Department Approval: Manager Reviewed: Agenda section. <br />�. 2. _ -M Consent <br />Item Description: Authorization to Apply for a State of Minnesota Outdoor Recreation <br />Fund (DNR) Grant for the completion of Rosebrook Park Loop <br />Pathway <br />BACKGROUND <br />The Minnesota innesota Department of Natural Resources Minnesota Outdoor Recreation Fund is a <br />program to assist local communities in their attempts to provide recreational amenities for <br />their citizens. The Parks and Recreation staff and Commission have identified the <br />Rosebrook Park pathway as an important project to complete. Attached is a copy of the <br />grant application for phase two of the Rosebrook Park loop pathway. <br />POLICY OBJECTIVE <br />The attached proposal is consistent with the policy of leveraging other public and private <br />resources to obtain funding to offset the costs of development. It is also consistent with the <br />Roseville Parks and Recreation system Plana the Pathway Plan and the City's efforts to <br />improve the pathway system in Roseville. <br />FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS <br />The City must provide at least matching funds of $7,500. These moneys are being <br />proposed to be taken from the RIP program budget. <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION <br />Based on the recommendation of the City of Roseville Parks and Recreation Commission, <br />the Parks and Recreation System Plan and the Rosebrook Park Master Plan, staff <br />recommends that the city submit a grant application to the Minnesota innesota Department of Natural <br />Resources Outdoor- Recreation Program for a Pathway Grant for $15,000 of which the City <br />would pay $7,500 to complete the pathway Loop around Rosebrook Park. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED <br />Motion authorizing the city staff to submit a grant application to the Minnesota Department of <br />Natural Resources Outdoor Recreation Grant Program . the amount of $15,000 for the <br />completion of the loop trail in Rosebrook Park. <br />
