1 I Roseville Neighborhood Traffic Management Program <br />2 1.0 Introduction <br />3 Concerns about;;9a44 traffic volumes and higher speeds have become important issues <br />4 throughout the metro area and are having an increasing impact on local streets in the City of <br />5 Roseville. The City of Roseville is continually striving to strengthen and protect its <br />6 neighborhoods by improving the quality of life On residential ^ ^ ^° A goal of the Roseville <br />7 Comprehensive Plan is for the transportation system to address community <br />8 issues and concerns while maintaining and enhancing neighborhoods, providing connectivity, <br />9 and the sense of community cohesion. <br />10 Discussion with traffic engineers in cities with established traffic management programs <br />11 provided insight into the need for a formal process. An established traffic management process <br />12 I Allows the city to better respond to residents and businesses, <br />13 Provides the opportunity for better understanding of the issues, and <br />14 • Allows consistent application across the community <br />15 1 Therefore, for F^^ eRts citizens to obtain consideration for any given traffic control measures on <br />16 either street or larger neighborhood area they are required to follow a process. The process will <br />17 ensure that neighborhoods with demonstrated traffic issues and community support for traffic <br />18 management have equal access to the neighborhood traffic process.
