Alternate II
would have a 52 foot roadway width including a landscaped median.
At the public hearing on January 29, 1991, the representative of
Lincoln Properties asked that the alignment be reviewed to
determine whether or not the roadway could be shifted toward the
south between County Ditch 4 and the westerly driveway to
Rosedale Square North. The main reason for this request was to
reduce the impact on the pond west of Edina Realty.
In addition, the City Council and City Manager, Steve Sarkozy,
expressed an interest in extending the raised median west of the
county ditch as far as the westerly driveways of the two
industrial buildings. You later asked us to look at this as a
design alternative and to consider the advantages and disadvan-
tages.
As we discussed during our meeting on February 12, we are
exploring an alternative for Terrace Drive west of County Ditch 4
which involves a 10 foot boulevard on the north, two 18 foot
lanes, a 12 foot median and a 6 foot boulevard on the south. It
is necessary to retain the 10 foot boulevard on the north side of
the street to provide enough distance to cover the grade change
SHORT ELLIOTT 5T PAUL, CHIPPEWA FALLS,
HENDRICKSON INC.
