To reduce the current maintenance requirements _through <br />redesigning certain elements of some parks and the <br />installation of quality, durable, vandal- resistant <br />materials. <br />III. PIP PRINCIPLES OF REDEVELOPMENT <br />1. All improvements will meet the latest appropriate safety <br />requirements, municipal and state codes and professional <br />standards. <br />2. Staff will work with the Parks and Recreation Commission <br />in completing and reviewing the PIP evaluation. Staff <br />will propose redevelopment projects to be reviewed by <br />planning staff /consultants and presented to City Council <br />3. Improvements will be designed to meet required standards <br />and minimize and /or reduce maintenance procedures <br />currently required. <br />4. The majority of the reconstruction labor will be <br />contracted allowing park maintenance staff to <br />concentrate on regular maintenance concerns. <br />5. An environmental assessment will be conducted before a <br />redevelopment proposal is completed. <br />6. A neighborhood meeting will be held to explain all <br />improvements. <br />7. Standard procedures will be used for drawing <br />specifications, advertising for bids and awarding <br />contracts. <br />IV. PIP IMPLEMENTATION PROCESS AND TIMELINE <br />ITEM TIMELINE <br />1. Staff, Parks and Recreation Commission and City July <br />Council annually review goals and principles of <br />PIP. Proposed for annual budget. <br />2. PIP evaluation instrument is refined. December <br />3. PIP scores are obtained for all Roseville <br />parks and park amenities. February 1 <br />4. Pre - proposal for annual PIP program submitted <br />to Parks and Recreation Commission for review <br />and comment and then to City Council February <br />5. Public hearing to invite citizen comment oh <br />PIP proposal. February <br />6. Final City Council approval to�be obtained March <br />(3) <br />
