REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION DATE: 3/11/91 Department Approval: Manager Reviewed: Item Description: Resolution approving plans ordering advertisements for Pavement Management Program ITEM NO.: F Agenda Section: Reports and Recommendations ind specifications and bids for the 1991 construction contracts Background:: On Monday, January 28, 1991 and Tuesday, January 29, 1991, public improvement hearings were held for the 1991 Pavement Management Program. All of the above projects, with the exception of Neighborhood 57, were ordered for construction in 1991. Neighborhood 57 was ordered with the condition that a construction contracts be awarded within 18 months. Policy objectives: State statute requires a council resolution approving plans and specifications and ordering advertisements for bids for all public improvements to be assessed. Since a portion of the PMP projects costs will be assessed to benifiting properties the adoption of this resolution is required. Financial implications: In order to encourage competitive bids and minimize administrative cost, it is desirable and practical to group the projects into larger construction contracts. Staff recommendations: In order to maintain the 1991 PMP schedule, it is recommended that the council approves the plans and specifications and order advertisements for bids according to the following project grouping and bid opening dates: CONTRACT A -- APRIL 11 at 10:00 a.m. P- 91 -02 -56 PMP Neighborhood 56: Dellwood Avenue, Merrill Street, Sherren Street, Fernwood Street, Laurie Road and Sandhurst Drive. P- W- SS -91 -13 Cul -de -sac construction to serve Zeece Addition south of Co. Rd. B. M -91 -06 Parking Lot construction at Villa Park. P- 91 -02 -45 PMP Neighborhood 45: Fairways Lane and Fulham Street. ST -90 -10 Storm sewer for PMP Neighborhood 45.
