X's 0 <br />r i arks and Recreation Needs Assessment Experten <br />B,ENCHMARKING SURVEYS (2010) <br />Springfield, Missouri <br />Leisure Vision conducted two (2) benchmarking surveys for the Springfield - Greene County <br />Parks and Recreation District. One survey related to types and number of parks, trails, and <br />indoor and outdoor parks and recreation facilities per 1,000 residents. 303 surveys were <br />completed (including comparisons to over 290 communities in Leisure Visions national data <br />base of over 300 communities. The 2'd survey related to numbers of staff, capital and operating <br />budgets and funding for parks and recreation systems. 13 surveys were completed. <br />NEEDS ASSESSMENT SURVEY PRIOR TO MASTER PLAN (2004) (2010) <br />Lindenhurst Park District, Lindenhurst, Illinois <br />Leisure Vision conducted a statistically valid mail/phone survey in 2004 for this suburban <br />Chicago area community. The survey is being used as a key component of a five year <br />comprehensive park district master plan that is being conducted by park district staff, which <br />includes major planning for renovation and expansion of outdoor and indoor programming areas, <br />trails,, aquatic facilities,, etc. <br />The minimum goal was to receive 400 completed surveys, with 300 being from households <br />throughout the Lindenhurst Park District, and 100 from Village of Lake Villa residents. This goal <br />was far exceeded. A total of 553 surveys were completed, including 452 from Lindenhurst Park <br />District residents and 101 from Village of Lake Villa residents. The results of the random sample <br />of 553 households have a 95% level of confidence with a precision of at least +/4.2%. <br />As part of the study, Leisure Vision conducted a focus group with the Lindenhurst Park Board to <br />and staff to develop survey questions as well as a presentation to the Park Board of final survey <br />results. <br />Leisure Vision recently completed an update of the Needs Assessment Survey <br />NEEDS ASSESSMENT SURVEY (2010) <br />Cleveland Metro Parks <br />Leisure Vision is currently working with the Cleveland Metro Parks on a parks and recreation <br />needs assessment survey. A total of 1,200 surveys will be completed. The survey is being <br />administered by mail and phone. Extensive cross-tabular analysis of survey responses will be <br />conducted for a wide range of demographic factors, including age of respondents, gender, <br />household size and types, income, education,, etc. Results will be compared to Leisure Vision's <br />national database of survey responses. <br />Leisure Vision Need.s Assessment Experience - 26 <br />
