The amount of severance <br />recay has not changed sincei the ordinance was first adopted, and it <br />i.,si not proposed to be changed,, <br />The first sub-paragraph under City, Code 254,.070 defines the age <br />--rlligib.ility for the severance pay as follows: <br />"(1) Regiular employees who are sixty years of <br />age or older and pollicemen who are fifty-five (55):: <br />years of age or olider w,i t,h ten (10) or more years <br />terminate their <br />of service with, the Clty who <br />employment because of retirement." <br />The City Attorney has prepared an, ordinance (attached) which <br />a,mends sub-paragraph (1) to define age eligibility as to whatever <br />the PERA statute provides, and reads as follows. <br />Regular emloyeeis and poll"ice officers who meet <br />,P <br />d <br />d <br />the eligibility requirements f'lor receipt of a pens ion <br />ffursuant. to the Plu,blic Employee Retirement AssociationE <br />,Statute,,, Minn.
