k" <br />REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />Item Description: Arbor Day Proclamation <br />Date: 4/11/11 <br />Item No.: 5.c <br />City Manager Approval <br />11 BACKGROUND <br />2 As a part of our Tree City USA membership, each year the City of Roseville proclaims a specific day as <br />3 Arbor Day in order to recognize the importance of trees and to promote their proper care and the planting of <br />4, many additional appropriate tree species to replace the thousands that have been lost over the years. <br />5 POLICY OBJECTIVE <br />6 This is consistent with the policy adopted many years ago of annually proclaiming Arbor Day. <br />"7 FINANCIAL IMPACTS <br />None <br />9 STAFF RECOMMENDATION <br />110 Staff recommends that April 29 th 1 2011 be named Roseville Arbor Day. <br />11 REQUESTED COUNCIL ACTION <br />12 Motion adopting the proclamation <br />13 <br />WEsJUSMsy: Lonnie Bro-1--ce, Director of Parks and, Recreation. <br />um 0 M��MWMW*7 <br />Page I of 2 <br />
