I have served meals at the Dorthy Day Center. <br />This summer I we�nt on a <br />m�ission trip to Red Lake Reservation, where I worked on various work proj'e�cts <br />including painting a day care <br />center and running a kids club. I have been a member on m�y school's social Justice. <br />committee for the past <br />four years where I have done a lot of fund raising. Through school and m�y church <br />group, I have done many <br />short to rm� service projects including organiz,ing a classroom at Libe�rty Plaza, <br />unloadinq a shipment of food at <br />the Hal lie Q. Brown Food Shelf, leaf raking in the community, packaging m�e�als at <br />Feed m�y starving <br />Children, collecting food for the can opener food drive, and caroling at St. Anthony <br />Park Here . <br />Pl ease state your reasons for wanti ng to serve on the Com�m�i ssi on/Board: Human <br />rights are very important to <br />me because I believe that it is our responsibility to protect the basic human <br />rights of those in our community. <br />I would like to be more involved and make a difference in our city. I would be <br />really excited to learn about <br />how human rights are addressed in Roseville, and how we can work to promote the <br />humans rights of all of <br />our residents. I think it is important to re�pre�se�nt the youth in the com�m�unity and <br />find ways to engage youth <br />in human rights. <br />what is your view of the role of this Commission/ Board?: I think that the Human <br />Rights Commission serves <br />to uphold the basic human rights of all of our cities residents and is a platform <br />for input on human rights <br />issues. <br />
