HRA Meeting Minutes – June 21, 2011 Page 7 1 Rosefest Parade 2 Ms. Kelsey reminded Board Members that the HRA was partnering with the Human Rights 3 Commission (HRC) for the parade; and that the HRA would be handing out magnetic grocery 4 shopping lists, and the HRC was handing out pencils and candy, during the parade. 5 6 Miscellaneous Discussion 7 Member Pust expressed her concern with the foreclosure trends; opining that it looked bad. 8 9 Chair Maschka noted that it may not present an accurate picture, as some of the foreclosures 10 that were initiated in 2008, may now just being completed. 11 12 Member Quam opined that the foreclosure crisis was by no means over yet. 13 14 Ms. Kelsey noted, on a positive note, that the City of Roseville was not one of the hard hit 15 communities qualifying for federal funding. Ms. Kelsey noted that she met annually with the 16 state; and the City was not yet deemed at a crisis-level for the federal government to step in to 17 provide stabilization efforts. 18 19 Chair Maschka noted, that of an estimated 15,000 households in Roseville, the foreclosure 20 rate, while being a concern, was still not a major issue yet at this time. 21 22 HRA Vacancy 23 Mr. Trudgeon noted that, with former HRA Board Member Susan Elkins moving out of 24 Roseville, and her last meeting in May of 2011; the City Council was seeking applications and 25 subsequent interviews; and would hopefully have a new Commissioner in place by August. 26 27 Ms. Kelsey suggested that Commissioners with knowledge of any residents with a specific 28 interest in HRA-related objectives or specific housing expertise, and interest in serving on the 29 HRA, to alert them to this vacancy. 30 31 11.
