Parks and Recreation Needs Assessment Experience <br /> NEEDS ASSESSMENT SURVEY AS COMPONENT OF MASTER PLAN (2009) <br /> Norfolk, Virginia <br /> Leisure Vision conducted a Community Interest Survey during the fall of 2009 for the City of <br /> Norfolk Department of Recreation, Parks and Open Space conducted a to establish priorities for <br /> the future improvement or parks and recreation facilities, programs and services within the City <br /> of Norfolk. The survey was designed to obtain statistically valid results from households <br /> throughout the City of Norfolk. The survey was administered by a combination of mail and <br /> phone. The goal was to obtain a total of at least 500 completed surveys from City of Norfolk <br /> residents. This goal was far exceeded, with a total of 573 surveys having been completed. The <br /> results of the random sample of 573 households have a 95% level of confidence with a precision <br /> of at least+/-4.1%. <br /> NEEDS ASSESSMENT SURVEY (2009) <br /> Key Biscayne, Florida <br /> Leisure Vision conducted a needs assessment survey for the City of Key Biscayne, Florida Parks <br /> and Recreation Department. A total of 400 surveys were completed. The survey was focused on <br /> key issues impacting current operations and long range planning for the community, including <br /> current usage and satisfaction with the park system, participation and satisfaction with recreation <br /> programs, the unmet needs and priorities for various parks, trails, recreation, and cultural <br /> facilities, and funding priorities. The results of the survey were broken down into key <br /> demographic factors to aid in the analysis process. Comparisons to Leisure Vision's national <br /> benchmarking data base were conducted. <br /> NEEDS ASSESSMENT SURVEY AS COMPONENT OF DOWNTOWN STUDY (2008) <br /> San Diego, California <br /> Leisure Vision conducted a statistically valid survey as part of a downtown parks and recreation <br /> master planning team to conduct a statistically valid mail/phone survey for this major <br /> metropolitan area in California. The survey was administered by phone or by mail and phone. <br /> Extensive cross-tabular analysis of survey responses was conducted for a wide range of <br /> demographic factors, including age of respondents, gender, household size and types, income, <br /> education, etc. Results were also compared to Leisure Vision's national database of survey <br /> responses. <br /> Leisure Vision Needs Assessment Experience- 32 <br />
