Parks and Recreation Needs Assessment Experience <br /> NEEDS ASSESSMENT SURVEY PRIOR TO SUCCESSFUL VOTER ELECTION (2008) <br /> Kettering, Ohio <br /> Leisure Vision worked with the Kettering Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Arts Department on a <br /> parks and recreation needs assessment survey during May of 2008. The survey was designed to <br /> obtain statistically valid results from households throughout the City of Kettering. The survey <br /> was administered by phone. The goal was to obtain a total of at least 400 completed surveys. <br /> This goal was accomplished, with a total of 418 surveys having been completed. The results of <br /> the random sample of 418 households have a 95% level of confidence with a precision of at least <br /> +/-4.8%. <br /> Results from the survey were used as a cornerstone for successful voter election held in <br /> November of 2008, resulting in the passage of a bond issue to fund a multi-million parks and <br /> recreation facilities improvement effort that passed with 69% approval. <br /> In 2010, Leisure Vision conducted a survey regarding indoor and outdoor programming spaces. <br /> NEEDS ASSESSMENT SURVEY AND STRATEGIC PLAN (2007) (2008) <br /> Fox Valley Special Recreation Association <br /> Leisure Vision conducted a Needs Assessment Survey for the Fox Valley Special Recreation <br /> Association (FVSRA) during the spring of 2007. The purpose of the survey was to gather input <br /> to help establish priorities for future improvements to programs and services of the Association <br /> and to lay the basis for development of a Strategic Plan for the Association. <br /> The survey was administered to three groups: households who are current clients of FVSRA, <br /> households who are past clients of FVSRA, and members of group homes who are current clients <br /> of FVSRA. Those who received a survey were selected from a list provided by the Fox Valley <br /> Special Recreation Association. The survey was administered by a combination of mail and <br /> phone. <br /> The goal was to obtain a total of at least 600 completed surveys. This goal was accomplished, <br /> with a total of 606 surveys having been completed. The results of the random sample of 606 <br /> households have a 95% level of confidence with a precision of at least+/-4.0%. <br /> Following development of the needs assessment survey, Leisure Vision was selected to facilitate <br /> a Strategic Plan for the FVSRA. Leisure Vision worked with a Steering Committee and The <br /> FVSRA as well as the Executive Director and staff of the District in preparing the Strategic Plan. <br /> Key components were a Vision, Mission and Values Statement; Development of Critical Issues <br /> and Action Strategies, and Development of a 3 Year Action Strategy <br /> Leisure Vision Needs Assessment Experience- 33 <br />
