Parks and Recreation Needs Assessment Experience <br /> NEEDS ASSESSMENT SURVEY AS COMPONENT OF MASTER PLAN (2008) <br /> Los Angeles, California <br /> Leisure Vision worked with the City of Los Angeles Parks and Recreation Department on a <br /> parks and recreation needs assessment survey during the summer of 2008 o establish priorities <br /> for the future improvement of parks, trails, greenways, sports and recreation facilities, programs <br /> and services within the community. The survey was administered by phone or by mail and <br /> phone in both English and Spanish. 2,800 surveys were completed, including at least 400 <br /> surveys in each of 7 major planning areas for the City. <br /> The goal was to obtain a total of at least 2,800 completed surveys. This goal was exceeded, with <br /> a total of 2,925 surveys having been completed. The results of the random sample of 2,925 <br /> households have a 95% level of confidence with a precision of at least+/-1.8%. <br /> PARKS AND RECREATION NEEDS ASSESSMENT STUDY (2008) <br /> Des Moines, Iowa <br /> Leisure Vision conducted a Community Attitude and Interest Survey during November and <br /> December of 2007 to establish priorities for the future improvement of parks and recreation <br /> facilities, programs and services within the community. The survey was designed to obtain <br /> statistically valid results from households throughout the City of Des Moines, including each of <br /> their council districts. The survey was administered by a combination of mail and phone. <br /> The goal was to obtain a total of at least 800 completed surveys. This goal was accomplished <br /> with a total of 822 surveys having been completed, including a representative sampling in each <br /> of their council districts. The results of the random sample of 822 households have a 95% level <br /> of confidence with a precision of at least+/-3.4%. The survey results were further compared to <br /> national benchmarks of citizen responses compiled by Leisure Vision from communities across <br /> the country. <br /> NEEDS ASSESSMENT SURVEY AS COMPONENT OF FEASIBILITY STUDY (2008) <br /> City of Roanoke,Virginia <br /> Leisure Vision conducted an Indoor Community Center Feasibility Survey during May and June <br /> of 2008 to establish priorities for the development of an indoor community center at Fallon Park. <br /> The survey was designed to obtain statistically valid results from households throughout the City <br /> of Roanoke and the surrounding area. The survey was administered by a combination of mail <br /> and phone. The goal was to obtain a total of 500 completed surveys, including 300 from City of <br /> Roanoke residents, and 200 from residents living outside of the City of Roanoke. This goal was <br /> accomplished, with a total of 579 surveys having been completed, including 377 from City <br /> residents, and 202 from non-City residents. The results of the random sample of 579 households <br /> have a 95% level of confidence with a precision of at least+/-4.1%. <br /> Leisure Vision Needs Assessment Experience- 35 <br />
