REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />Date: May 23, 2011 <br />Item No.: 7. e <br />Department Approval City Manager Approval <br />Item Description: Consider Amending the Code of Ethics <br />11 BACKGROUND <br />2 At their May 11, 2011 Ethics Commission meeting, the Commission voted unanimously to <br />3 recommend the City Council amend Resolution 9 10408, the Code of Ethics, to 1) expand the <br />4, types of ethics training allowed; 2) emphasize that training is for all public officials; and 3) <br />5 permit experts from within and outside of the city government to conduct the annual training. <br />6 On May 16, 2011 City Council meeting, Ethics Commission members discussed with the <br />"7 Council their recommended changes. <br />8 POLICY OBJECTIVE <br />9 To clarify language in the Code of Ethics to expand types of training, to ensure that it is open to <br />110 all public officials and to allow experts from within the City of Roseville to conduct training. <br />11 FINANCIAL IMPACTS <br />12 one <br />13 STAFF RECOMMENDATION <br />14, Adopt a resolution amending the City of Roseville Code of Ethics (Resolution 10408) relating to <br />15 training. <br />116 REQUESTED COUNCIL ACTION <br />1 "7 Adopt a resolution amending the City of Roseville Code of Ethics (Resolution 10408) relating to <br />11 training. <br />119 <br />Prepared by: William J.
