Discuss and Plan for Joint Meeting with City Council
The annual joint meeting of the City Council and Parks and Recreation Commission will be held
on Monday, June 20, 2011 at a regular City Council meeting. A presentation from Leisure Vision
on the survey results will be on the same night.
It is anticpated that the survey presentation will be the first item on the City Council agenda just
prior to the joint meeting so all Commissioners and Council members can hear the presentation.
This will be a very good opportunity to ask questions of Leisure Vision and gain insight and
knowledge. Invitations will also be sent to the Citizen Advisory Team (CAT), Citizen Organizing
Team (COT) and Implementation Team Members.
Although it is the Mayor and City Council Members meeting, in order to make best use of time, it
will be important to discuss a process for the night at your May meeting.
A preliminary review of the night of June 20, 2011 is anticipated as follows:
6:00 p.m. — City Council Meeting begins
6:30 p.m. — Presentation by Leisure Vision
7:15 p.m. — Joint Meeting
It is anticpated that the joint meeting will immediately follow the presentation for about 40 minutes.
However, it is very important that as much time be given to the Leisure Vision as necessary.
Following the presentation is an opportunity to discuss options for continuing to move forward.
This is your meeting with the City Council to have a open discussion and gather guidance from
them.
Please be prepared to identiy any other topic areas of interest to you that you would like to have a
conversation with the City Council about. Please mark your calendars for Monday, June 20t"
Requested Commission Action: Discuss and plan meeting.
6. Directors Report
7. Other
8. Adjournment
