Regular attendance at Planning Project Team (PPT) meetings and City Council <br />34 meetings/presentations is expected. Capable of providing information on the trade-offs between alternative building <br />46 systems as to initial costs, life cycle costs, and construction schedule. <br />47 0 Verify the design is within budget and will lead to efficient, smooth flowing, and <br />48 economical construction. <br />49 <br />5o FINANCIAL IMPACTS <br />'i The new fire station project incorporates two phases. Phase I will include the preliminary design <br />52 phase and Phase 11 will be the final design, planning, and construction elements. <br />53 Phase I cost are estimated to be between $,10,,000 and $,20,,000. <br />54 The RFP will be structured so that if Phase 11 is approved and the same Construction <br />55 Management firm is utilized the cost of Phase I will be incorporated into the overall cost of the <br />56 Construction Management Services. <br />Costs for Phase I will only be paid should Phase 11 not be approved or if a different Construction <br />58 Management firm is used for Phase 11. <br />59 STAFF RECOMMENDATION <br />6('_-) Staff recommends Council authorize the fire department to issue an RFP for Construction <br />61 Management Services for Phase I of the new Fire Station Project using the overall best value <br />62 process. <br />63 REQUESTED COUNCIL ACTION <br />64 Motion to authorize the fire department to issue an RFP for Construction Management Services <br />65 for Phase I of the new Fire Station Project using the overall best value process. <br />66 <br />67 <br />Prepared by: T'i mo �thy O'Neill, Fire Chief <br />Page 2 of 2 <br />
