3 t h <br />In addition, on July 28, , a com�m�un�ity information meeting and workshop was held for the <br />34 purpose of reviewing the specific projects, costs, m th�od and overall approach�. The worksh�op <br />35 portion (a process that has carried on to other com�m�un�ity engagement efforts) was to review <br />36 the step one proposal and suggest areas that may here been m�issed, areas that should not <br />37 be included, areas of h�igh�er priority and areas of lower priority. Included ins your packet is a <br />bullet listing of the com�m�en�ts received at the m�eetin�g., T'h�e COT'con�tin�ues to review and <br />39 consider thiese comments as the process con�tin�ues. Generally, the perception is th t step one <br />4 ('-) is reflective of the community efforts to date., <br />41 <br />42 At the August 2 nd 1 2011 Parks and Recreation Commission Meetin�g, the Commission <br />43 recommended that the City Council auth�orize the method, approach and dollar amount <br />44 ($19,025,000) as presented in the proposed step one in order to continue to fully engage the <br />Citizen Organ�izin�g Team, Implementation Work Groups and other involved citizens ins arnest., <br />46 T'h�ey also recom�m�e nod ed that efforts con�tin�ue ins refin�in�g the projects as they make sense in <br />47 working with the com�m�un�ity, the Implementation Work Groups and to work with City Staff and <br />48 the City Bond Counsel to prepare a resolutions and set a public h�earin�g date., <br />49 <br />As this proposal is considered, there here been discussions about how to address the need <br />,i for maintenance of replaced/revitalized facilities, land acquisitions and other im rovem�en�ts <br />2 thiat will generate increased use., ile resources for ongoing maintenance is 'e been <br />53 reduced in past years, it is important thiat in future budget years, as im rovem�en�ts are made, <br />54 that consideration be givens to provide adequate and appropriate resources based upon <br />55 com�m�un�ity use and expectations. <br />The proposed plan does call for additional land acquisition as well as replacem�en�t of existing <br />facilities and with new and im roved facilities it is fully an�ticipated thiat increased use and <br />59 com�m�un�ity gath�erin�gs will take place. T'h�e desire to create opportun�ities for residents to <br />6('-) gather and engage hies been explicitly expressed ins all plan�n�in�g efforts conducted by the City <br />6,i and Citizens of Roseville in�cludin�g, but not limited to, Imagine Roseville 2025, Com�preh�en�sive <br />62 Plan, Parks and Recreations Master Plans update and all Citizen Advisory Com�m�ission�s., <br />63 <br />64 Included in your packet are the two spreadsheets from the July meeting, the first is a <br />65 categorical listing of step one implementation projects and costs and the other is a phiased <br />66 step one approach of projects and costs over 5 years., The detail project listings and <br />67 tim�efram�es are still being reviewed by the com�m�un�ity through the work teams and ongoing <br />64, com�m�un�ity dialogue which is anticipated to go on for the next couple of months with final <br />69 review and recom�m�en�dation�s yet to be made by the Implementation Work Groups and the <br />"7 ('-) Parks and Recreation Com�m�ission�., At the time of final recommendation to the City Council on <br />7 1 the recom�m�en�ded projects, the process will con�tin�ue with setting a public h�earin�g to issue <br />"72 bonds for th�e projects., <br />73 <br />74 Jason Etten�, Chair of the COT end the Parks and Recreation Commission and staff will be at <br />"7 the meeting for further discussion. <br />76 POLICY OBJECTIVE <br />"7 "7 The process to implement the Parks and Recreation System Master Plan is consistent with City <br />"7 goals to engage the com�m�un�ity when planning the provision of services, facilities and land use., It <br />"7 9 is also consistent with the City's efforts as outlined in the Imagine Roseville 2025. <br />Page 2 of 3 <br />
