Attachment A <br />Roseville Central Park Amphitheatre Creative Intersections, Proposal <br />Project H�ierarch�y: <br />• The complete project involves the renovation of the Roseville Central Park Amphitheatre. Plans <br />in�clulde refurbishment and repairs to ban�dsh�ell and adjacent deck, replacement of dated lighting <br />and souln�d systems and inclusion of a sign�atulre public art piece. Financing shared by Roseville <br />Parks and Recreation and non - profit, Roseville Central Park Fouln�dation�. <br />• Creative Intersections project involves the signature piece of public art only. MRAC <br />Creative Intersections grant would allow the community planning team to expand the <br />project budget for a more significant piece of community art. Matching fuln�ds provided by <br />Roseville Parks and Recreation. <br />• Community celebration marking the completion of the project and art dedication and a kick-off to <br />a new era of arts enjoyment and appreciation in Roseville. Event sponsored by Roseville <br />Bulsin�esses and the Roseville Visitors Association. <br />Roseville Central Park Amphitheatre is a key access point to oulr arts active com�m�uln�ity. It is the place <br />where oulr com�m�uln�ity gathers, where neighbors meet, where generations come together, where culltulres <br />meld. The Amphitheatre is the place where oulr arts rich com�m�uln�ity congregate to enjoy, experience and <br />perform as m�ulsician�s and actors, as an auldien�ce and arts en�th�ulsiasts. <br />The Amphitheatre is 3,0 years old; it is an aging facility in need of strulctulral upgrades, technical <br />enhancements and visulal excitement. For years, local artists have requlested improvements and the <br />sch�edullin�g staff have explored ways to finance repairs and researched ways to maximize financing. <br />Recently a partnership emerged between Roseville Parks and Recreation and the Roseville Central Park <br />Foundation to renovate, upgrade and rejulven�ate the Amphitheatre. The City and Foundation plan to <br />replace the souln�d and lighting systems, remodel the ban�dsh�ell strut tube and improve the sulrrouln�din�g <br />grouln�ds. In addition to the rnuch needed strut ctulral and technical improvements, the site needs a bit of <br />cc creative wow)'), a significant piece of art adding a visulal impact to the project. <br />Oulr Creative Intersections project is the addition of a Public art component to the Amphitheatre <br />renovation project. A uln�iqule piece of art, with strong connections to oulr com�m�uln�ity, wound not only <br />compliment the project visually, it will fulrth�er establish the sense of place Roseville residents and gulests <br />feel when they visit the Amphitheatre in Central Park. The Creative Intersections portion of the project <br />will engage local arts en�th�ulsiasts to create a vision for the project and a connection with local artists to <br />create the sign�atulre piece. This project will celebrate Roseville ) s engagement with the arts and <br />rededicate oulr com�m�uln�ity to sulpportin�g and promoting the arts. <br />Oulr gulidin�g principles for creating a spectacular piece of public art at the Roseville Central Park <br />Amphitheatre are; <br />• Preserving the com�m�uln�ity arts legacy of the Central Park Amphitheatre. <br />• En�coulragin�g civic engagement by attracting participation fromi all corners of the comimiuln�ity. <br />• Engaging local artists with special talents and innovative presentations. <br />• Celebrating oulr uln�iqule com�m�uln�ity makeup. <br />• Inspiring life -long involvement in the arts and a lifetime of arts appreciation. <br />Roseville Parks and Recreation is excited by the opportuln�ity presented by the Creative Intersections <br />Grant. The project team, in�cluldin�g the Roseville Bulsin�ess Community and Roseville Visitors <br />Association, the Roseville Central Park Foundation and Parks and Recreation will bulild on over forty <br />years of successful collaborations.
