Roseville is a city where peop/e make the difference. <br />Residents of Roseville have long enjoyed the stability, diversity, and friendliness of strong, safe <br />neighborhoods. These neighborhoods foster strong com�m�uln�ity spirit and volunteerism in Roseville. <br />Roseville population is older than most suburbs. Forty percent of all homes have a h�oulseh�old head over <br />the age of 55. As h�oulsin�g becomes available, mid - career, two income families with grade schiool and <br />middle school children move into Roseville. And they are staying, creating a stable com�m�uln�ity. The 2000 <br />census shiows that the minority population in Roseville has grown from 5% in 1990 to 10.5%. <br />The City of Roseville offers its residents a wide array of services. Roseville tries to go beyond merely <br />delivering services. It strives to educate, inform and involve residents in the operations of and the <br />opportuln�ities within the City. The City's efforts in this area have placed it among an elite groulp when it <br />comes to national recognition for its departments and services. Roseville Parks and Recreation is one <br />such nationally recognized organization. Roseville was recognized in 2004, with the Commission for <br />Accreditation of Park and Recreation Agencies re-accreditation award. Roseville met 152 of 152 <br />standards, the highest in the nation. In 2000, Roseville was awarded the National Gold Medal Award, <br />one of the most prestigious and coveted national awards for recognition of excellence in parks and <br />recreation administration. Roseville has been acknowledged with the Minnesota Recreation and Parks <br />Association Awards of Excellence fourteen times. The MRPA Award of Excellence recognizes high� <br />standards and success in the development and management of programs and facilities, innovative use of <br />technology and creative promotions and marketing tech�n�iqules. <br />Roseville, where people make the difference. Strong neighborhoods with abuln�dan�t parks, nationally <br />recognized City services, growing economic base, low City taxes, and a convenient location make <br />Roseville a great place to raise a family, start a business, and enjoy the arts. <br />In support of public arts at the Amphitheatre, the cash match has been allocated by the City of Roseville <br />and Parks and Recreation ($8000). All team members are committed to providing significant in -kind <br />support to assist with project management, installation and promotion along with celebration promotion. <br />Roseville is a diverse and dynamic com�m�uln�ity. We welcome new neighbors and businesses, and <br />respectfullly and effectively generate high�-qulality solutions to evolving com�m�uln�ity needs. We work hard, <br />voluln�teer actively, care about our com�m�uln�ity, and con�tribulte to the common good. And we con�tin�ulally <br />reach out to include everyone in com�m�uln�ity decision making and respect and consider all perspectives <br />and ideas. The Imagine Roseville 2025 Com�m�uln�ity Vision�in�g Process was an open invitation to <br />everyone in the comimiuln�ity to participate in planning for the future. <br />Efforts will be made to select artists that reach oust to young adullts, families and older adullts in their own <br />artistic way support our ulltim�ate goal of promoting appreciation for the arts th�roulgh�oult the lifespan�. <br />Performances are designed for enjoyment by all ages and encourage an appreciation for the arts <br />through the generations. <br />The planning committee hopes the Performances in the Park series acts as an agent to strengthen the <br />bonds between com�m�uln�ity members, to develop com�m�uln�ity traditions and increase com�m�uln�ity pride. <br />The Performances in the Park organizing committee reflects our com�m�uln�ity.
