This report deals with the Police <br />'A 0 <br />Officer's tin t. 'There are 39 city employees in the LELS bargaining unit. They are comprised of <br />non stipervisory licensed officer s. <br />Although city employee wages are provided in five different plans, the City maintains a policy of <br />overall parity for all einployees. According to this philosophy, the City strives for comparable <br />cost of living 'increases, and benefits for these five employee groups. In addition, the City <br />benchmarks itself with comparable municipalities. <br />Council has provided for a, 3.5 % wage increase in the 2008 budget. However, the Police <br />Officeris, when compared internally have received .46%, more than other staff in cost of living <br />wage increasessince I z,004.
