4. UNIFORMS: <br />The City will provide a uniform allowance of $720 for uniformed officers and $636 for all <br />others in unit for 2008. This is a $4 annual increase from 2007 and is in line with other Cities. <br />5. INSURANCE--. <br />Same as City Council has provided to a1] other City staff. <br />Compensatory time may be accrued up to eighty (80) hours for any overtirne earned under the <br />provisions of this contract (including holidays). Overtime beyond the maximum will be paid <br />in cash. This allows for more flexibility and does not cost the City anything additional. <br />19 7. APPENDIX A — SPECIALTY PAY: <br />20 <br />21 Increase specialty pay to Two Hundred Thirty Five ($235.00) dollars per month or Two <br />22 Hundred Thirty Five ($235.0:0) dollars prorated for less than a full inorth in addition to their <br />23 regular wage rate. This is an increase of $45 per month but compares with other cities. <br />24 <br />25 *The Police Sergeants are the only group not settled for the 2008 year. <br />26 <br />27 P011"gY Implications <br />28 Each year the City budgets for wage and benefit adjustments for all employees. The adjustments <br />29 stem from the best information known or anticipated from the metro labor market, labor <br />30 settlements, and the consumer price index. <br />31 <br />32 The City's compensation policy objectives include: <br />33 <br />34 Internal Equity — maintaining a compensation and benefit package that is as consistent as <br />%­o <br />35 possible between the City's three union and two n►n-union groups. <br />36 <br />37 External Equity- the policy "is to maintain a compensation and benefits package that is <br />38 equivalent to comparable cities for comparable positions. <br />39 <br />40 Financial Implications <br />41 The budgeted personnel services funds in the 2008 budget would cover the cost of the proposed <br />42 LELS collective bargaining agreement for 2008. <br />43 <br />44 Council Action Reguested <br />45 Motion to approve the proposed terms and conditions for the 2008 collective bargaining <br />46 agreement with the LELS, and to direct the City staff to prepare the necessary documents for <br />47 execution, subject to City Attorney approval as to legal form. <br />48 <br />
