Final Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) <br />SRFC Safe Schools/Healthy Students Initiative (SS/HS) <br />Connections Grant Partners of Suburban Ramsey County <br />I the ground by engaging, in ongoing, focus groups, parent and youth surveys, <br />2 parent/youth advisory councils, cultural leader advisory councils, low <br />3 income/subsidized housing, resident advisory boards (vii. Polynesian Village <br />4 Supportive Housing Partnership; Maple Pond Homes Supportive Housing Partnership, <br />5 Montreal Courts Supportive Housing Partnership and Cedar View Town Homes <br />6 Supportive Housing Partnership) and other dialogues to continue involving, students, <br />7 parents, families and community members in the design, implementation and <br />8 continuous improvement of SRFC and the continuum of care and to learn of and <br />9 address emergent needs in the Suburban Ramsey communities. <br />10 <br />1.1 SRFC has changed circumstances in our communities from conditions of risk, to <br />12 conditions that protect. They have done this by diligently adhering to three key <br />13 principals: Reality-Testin2, Research and Results Accountabi <br />14 o talking to children, youth and their parents to determine what's important to them, <br />15 what their strengths and needs are and how we can help (Reality- Testing), <br />16 o combining their input with what research says works (Research) , and <br />17 o allocating human, financial and in-kind resources toward strategies that have the <br />18 best chance at making a Dositive, life-changing impact (Results o nt biltj) . <br />19 <br />20 'YRFC Vision statement: "Suburban Ramsey County is a community were our cbildren <br />21 andyouth's safety, security, bealth and learning are a priority for all and no cbild <br />22 remains at risk. 91 <br />23 <br />24 Community Eninement <br />25 In December of 2005, these partners embarked on a social marketing campaign to engage <br />26 a larger, more diverse multi-sector and inter - generational partnership to bring awareness <br />27 to the ever growing needs of children, youth and families, the declining resources to meet <br />28 these needs and the urgency to make children and youth's health, learning, safety and <br />29 security a public priority in our communities. 130 children, youth, parents, policy <br />30 makers, practitioners and community members came to the event and 101 <br />31 participants engaged in a discussion around how we can all work together to <br />32 support children, youth and families experiencing, at-risk circumstances and <br />33 conditions in our communities. This initiative is called "How are the Children?" It is <br />34 designed to engage, inform and mobilize multiple and diverse sectors of the community <br />35 including minority and majority voices and perspectives to develop into strong <br />36 community leaders that influence the public priorities in our communities. They will <br />37 form the How Are the Children Community Advisory Council (CAQ. Members will be <br />38 responsible for continuing to identify strengths, needs, problems and concerns and <br />39 recommend practical and comprehensive solutions that will aid in the improvement of all <br />40 children, youth and families lives in Suburban Ramsey County so as to ensure that no <br />41 child at risk. <br />42 <br />44 <br />wla� <br />
