Mr. Aff Evv;j'soti
Cil)) of Roseville
Noveritber 8, 2006
Pages 3
Task 2: or
First, the overall goals, an objectives including the activities, natural resource nianage-ment,
educational coniponents and feati-ires to be included in the Nature Center will need to be
established dirough the Stakeholder Task Force. We blehieve that the Overall Goals and
Ob r ectives Workshops will be required to achieve a unified vision for the Center,
9
Issues Workshops are also helpful in breaking down the overall vision into more nianageable
tasks with the appropilatie stakeholders involved. We proplose three to our Issues Workshops:
IQ Onejoint workshop
o Recreation1programming
C) Nature al resource enhancement
10 Maintenance facifily Issiles
After these workshops are conipleted, the design team w,111 prepare two different master plan
alternatives tio be evaluated by the Stakeholder Task Force. The design altCniatives and selected
plan will 'be, reviewed and discussed in separate interac, tive Technical Review Workshops.
Throu 11
Ighout each workshop, meeting agendas and minittes w*Jl e prepared to document
discussions and define outcomes.
Task 3: Con imunity Education and Outreach
In addition to the 'interested citizens and Stakeholder Task Force representatives, the community
at large needs to be info nned of the process and master plan results. We propose Nvorking with
the City to provide updated information on project progress via the City"s We site, FROBANC,
City newsletters, and, surrounding sebools to provide coverage at the draft and final plan stages.
We also propose a well advertised public open house to en gie the cotTmiunity and allow for
feedback in the process.
Task 4: Opinion of Probable Cost and Phasing Plans
After selection, of the preferred altemative we will devellop a preliminary opinion of probable
It
construction cost. Recognizing that the eilliTC plan will not likely be developed at once, the
master plan will pay careful attention to phasing the Nature Center improvements over a number
of years as funding becomes available.
"I'lie phasing plan will also help prioritize improvements, such as prioritizing the natural
resources so oxtra money doesn't need to be spent later, to control established invasive
populations. This will allow the natural areas to be in better condition once trail improvements
are completed.
Task 5: Formal Presentations
We propose to present the Draft Master Plan for review and comment to Advisory Boards,
Commissions, and/or the City Council as directed by City Staff. We will also present 4he Fillat
Master Plans, as diTecteld for approval.
q
Task 6 , Funding anid Cram Opportunities
As we are experienced in l-everaging funds, for multiple park and natural resource projeds, we
will identify multiple grants that the City and FROHANC can pursue to allocate money for trails,
naft tral resource inanagement, and educational prograinis. We will provide figures and project
costs in assisting with grant dcvelopment,
■ a
ow
