Attachment A <br />2008 Roseville City and School District Meeting <br />Summary and Action Plans <br />Imagine Roseville 2025 <br />Potential opportunities for collaboration between School District and City. Create a sense <br />of community and embrace diversity and the educational aspects of the goal of Roseville <br />having a strong and inclusive sense of community. <br />The community's diversity is an enviable strength. Embrace and celebrate that diversity <br />through education and lifelong learning opportunities. The City and District could partner <br />to provide community programs and mentorship opportunities to strengthen all <br />demographic categories. <br />Community demographics continue to change, and both the School District and the City <br />needed to be proactive, rather than reactive, achievable through recognizing mutual goals <br />and missions. <br />. City's Human Rights Commission is holding a <br />Possible Action Step. <br />Community Forum on October 14, 2008 to opening dialogue on diversity. The School <br />Board could partner with the City in planning and recruiting attendees. <br />Mayor Klausing noted a presentation by Peg Kennedy, I.S.D. 623 Manager of Youth <br />Development Programs that provided information and statistics on the changing nature of <br />demographics in the School District. <br />Possible Actions : Make the District's presentation available to other <br />community civic organizations. <br />Councilmember Dan Roe,, referencing the Imagine Roseville final report, encouraged the <br />document to be viewed as a community document. He noted that the goals and strategies <br />affect the lives of all families in the community. <br />Possible Action School Board use the Imagine Roseville final report for <br />consideration as it makes decisions. <br />Possible Action City and School Board report to each other and to the <br />community. Hold joint open forums to receive public input. <br />
