Chair Kitty Gogins observed that items highlighted in the report were not inconsistent <br />with issues being pursued by the School policies and objectives in place for five years <br />and which have been having a great impact to the School District. The School District <br />has reached many achievements especially in the area of diversity. They noted that <br />children are only a part of the picture and neighborhoods, parents and the entire <br />community share objectives <br />Possible Action Share the School District materials and expertise with the <br />City as it pursues community-wide diversity issues. Formalize role of District in <br />Diversity Awareness efforts <br />Roseville Area Schools Educational Planning Advisory <br />Committee (EPAC #2) <br />School Superintendent John Thein reviewed the EP AC completed in 2004 to develop <br />recommendations to direct the future of district facilities,, finances and educational <br />programming. The School Board approved the plan in August 2005. <br />The School District is considering the next phase, EP AC planned in the fall of 2008, to <br />prepare the District for the next five years. The District will establish a planning group to <br />receive input from all of the communities and municipalities in the District. <br />Possible Action City participation in and support for the EP AC planning. <br />1 0 <br />Student Survey and Demographics Information <br />Karen Schaub,, School District staff, provided comparative data from the 2004 and 2007 <br />Minnesota Student Survey from Roseville Area Schools. Ms. Schaub provided an update <br />based on October 1, 2007 data on some of the demographic highlights. <br />Possible Action School Board to provide detailed information which had <br />been presented to the School District to the City Council since the City also considers <br />community-wide issues. <br />Safe Schools, Healthy Schools <br />RAS and Mounds View School Districts,, through Ramsey County and in conjunction <br />with the North Suburban Family Collaborative (NSFC)�, had received an $,8 million grant <br />over a four year period to target specific programs and facilities that impact areas of <br />1116WIMM <br />VP <br />
