Gentlemen:
I am writing to express my, concern about the process for filling the upcoming vacancy on the it Council..
The Mayor's seat, along with, the four Council Member seats, are all elected positions. However, under the
can cast two votes, he has the sole authority of deciding who fills, the vacancy. This doesn't seem to fit 'in with
the Democratic style of Government we are supposed to be fivi , ng under.
Since the, Mayor,, and Council Members, are all elected by the people, I believe that the time has come to
ammerid the existing ordin, ancie to allow for a special election to fill the vacancy. This election would not have a.
Primary compoinent, but would simply be a one-shot deal. Thi's the way Dem.ocracy is supposed to work.
I encourage you to, apply your collective wisdom and amme,nd the. exisfing ord' 0
