I trust the council 11 to, appoint a member to fill the remainder of Mr. Klausing's vacancy. My expectation is that the members
have the residents interests in mind v.s.personal agendas,,. There are enough members on the council to make a wise
decision for Roseville voters. There are also two very qualified women, well liked by Roseville voters, based on recent
election results. Compare their ire sults to your own voting records, below
,General Election 2o03
Craig Klausing-4307
Amy. 1hlan-3853
,General Election 2001
Craig Klausing-3,701
, eg. Schrioeder-31,154,1
i
Tom .ough -3,093
General Election 19919
John Kysylyczyn-2,9017
Nolte that only Mr.. Klausing and 'Mr. Maschka have received more votes that Ms. Han and Ms. Pust, while others received
si"gnificantly less in previous, year's. Plus this was a city election only. Remarkable! Hopefully at least one of them will
apply for- an, *interview for, the position. You can, be sure, should Mr. Schroeder, Mayor Kysylyczyn, and Mr.,
Kough, try to push one more thing down the throats of Roseville voters, we will get out to vote -again 1. It will be
especially *important when voters realize how much you are spending to prevent an appointee, ntee, by the council, to
demonstrate his or her capabilities as a council member.
To summarize, no special election should occur prior to the general fall election already scheduled. There
should be minimal cost at the time, as the polls will already be open. I personally would trust the council to fill
the current vacancy for the remainder of vacant seat, but feel wore residents should state their views.. If'
residents do pref6r, a, special election, then consideration should be made to extend the term. It is not fair to a
candidate to make them run so many years in a row-. Finally, please stop the efforts to take primary- elections
32
