Attachment C <br />6. &ateme nt f I ire Dent <br />The Ramsey, County Library Board is planning a ren-ovation and expansion of the Ramsey County <br />Libraryin Roseville. The expansion will add approximately 30�,300 square feet to the existing <br />4,31,40► square feet for a new building total of 73,700 square feet. The majority of the expansion <br />space will be a second floor additi . on to the existing build.ing. To provide adequate site area to <br />accommodate the required parking, Ramsey Countly purchased seven (7) residential 1--ots. north of <br />the existing library site. The County is now requesting a Conditional Use Permit to allow for the <br />t,xpansiian construction and renovation of the Rosevifle Library, including a coffee shop and the u-st <br />tif the purchased property for expanded parking. <br />71. Narrative. <br />Thel ever - expanding community use of the Ramsey County Library in Roseville has exceeded the <br />existing- library's ability to meet the demand. Constructed in 1992 - ,. the facility has remained <br />unichanged with the exception of incorporating a. coffee shop in 1996. In 2003, a facilities master <br />plan approved by the Ramsey County Library Board: targeted the Roseville Library for a significant <br />elx pan s,ion and ins July 2007, a pre-design study of the libirary, needs concluded that an addition of <br />approximately 30,000 square feet would support the services desired by the community.
