Description.- Resolution Authorizing the Skating Center Refrigeration System Funding Plan 10 11 12 Background 13 By previous action, the City Council has ordered the replacement of the Slating Center 14 refrigeration system with a full geothermal system.. However, the Council has not formally 15 identified a funding source. Given the significant cost of this project, and in recognition of the 16 potential to receive funding assistance from the State, the Council is riled to approve the 17 funding plan by resolution. 18 19 The attached memo dated November 1 , 2007 contains Staff s recommendation on which 0 funding sources should be used in the event that other non -local funding sources are insufficient. 1 This information was included in previous Council packets on two separate occasions. 3 Because the Slating Center serves a broader market beyond Roseville and given our 4 commitment to an environmentally - friendly geothermal system, we are in the process of seeking 5 funding assistance from the State of Minnesota. However, in all likelihood we won't know whether our request is approved until May — well after our project is underway.
