Mr. Schwartz <br />64 said over the years ther e've been several com plain tsftom around Northwestern <br />65 College due to student parkinz Also her -ve been several complaints about <br />66 vehicles for sale and not moo vin gfor long periods of time; and there -'ve been <br />67 complaints around certain apartment buildings that don -'/ have enough onsite <br />68 parking. <br />69 <br />70 Chair DeBenedet asked if there was a process in place to handle parking <br />71 complaints. Mr. Schwartz said there was a Traffic Safety (70mmittee that looked <br />72 into safety issues, but city staff would work with residents who had complaints <br />73 and try to find a resolution. Chair DeBenedet asked if the (., Y ity couldpost no <br />74 parking signs anywhere they wanted. Ms. Bloom said the process involves a <br />75 resolution approved by the ity Council. <br />76 <br />77 Me bier Neprash spoke to what they should recommend to Council: 1) The <br />78 Commission is not in favor of a cilywideparking ban based on the responses and <br />79 their own opinions; 2) Where parking is allowable, public streets are open for <br />80 anyone to park; 3) if there is a legitimate problem in localized situations, <br />81 residents can bring it to the attention of city staff, who will look into it. <br />82 Chair DeBenedet suggested that residents who contacted the (,.,Ity wanting a <br />83 parking ban should be contacted and informed of how they could have staff look <br />84 into their individual problem. Chair DeBenedet also suggested the information <br />85 be written up in the Roseville newsletter. <br />86 <br />87 Member Willenbring suggested an article in the Roseville newsletter <br />88 recommending that residents talk to their neighbors first if there's a problem <br />89 instead of getting City staff involved. Me ber Vanderwall suggested when <br />90 residents called in with a problem, staff 's question might be "Have you <br />91 talked to your neighbor? Y1 <br />92 <br />93 Chair DeBenedet said they shouldjust let staff handle situations in the way they <br />94 feel is best.
