28 EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING 29 OF THE 30 CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE 32 33 34 Pursuant to due all and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of 3, Roseville,, County of Ramsey, Minnesota was duly held on the day of 2 0 , at 6.00 36 p.m. 37 3, The following members were present.- 39 40 and the following were absent.- 4 1 42 Member introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption.- 43 44 RESOLUTION No 45 46 Encouraging Ramsey County to Keep Roseville Library Open During Reconstruction 47 48 WHEREAS The Roseville Library is an irreplaceable community resource; and 49 5o WHEREAS,, It houses more than 325,,000 items,, approximately 38% of the library system's 'i collection; and 53 WHEREAS,, The Roseville Library annually circulates 1.7 million items -- more items than any 4 other library in Minnesota; and 56 WHEREAS,, The diversity of its collection attracts visitors from throughout the metropolitan area; and 59 WHEREAS An average of 338 people per hours enter the library; and 60 61 WHEREAS,, The Roseville Library is a gathering place for the community with nearly 2,000 62 people visit the Library every day, making use of its vast collection and other amenities 63 including 4O public internet computers; and 64 65 WHEREAS,, The Library hosts more than 700 community meetings a year,, and each week 66 more than 150 children and parents attend the Roseville Library story time. 67 64, NOW, THEREFORE,, BE IT RESOLVED,, that the Roseville City Council encourages the 69 Ramsey County Board of Commissioners to keep an interim Roseville Library "7 4w. open in some capacity for the community during reconstruction.
