POLICY OBJECTIVE <br />The policy objective with this particular project involves consideration of the cost/benefit to implement <br />sustainable uses for facilities in the city of Roseville as well as long term planning. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACTS <br />The total cost including alternates as described is $2,217,400, not including a contingency which should be <br />set at 10% of project costs. The anticipated savings is $23,400 per year. Future savings are also tied into a <br />future campus wide application. Currently the projected payback between a new "full" conventional <br />indirect system in 2007 dollars and the new "full" geothermal system in 2008 dollars is estimated at 22 <br />years <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION <br />Considering all current and future options staff recommends the City Council consider authorizing the City <br />Manger to enter into an agreement with Harty Mechanical for the installation of a "full" geothermal system <br />at the Roseville Skating Center Arena at a cost not to exceed $2,217,400 plus a $225,000 contingency. <br />REQUESTED COUNCIL ACTION <br />Consider authorizing the City Manager to enter into an agreement with Harty Mechanical to install a "full" <br />geothermal system at the Roseville Skating Center Arena for an amount not to exceed $2,217,400 plus a <br />$225,000 contingency with final approval of documents by City Attorney. <br />Prepared by: Lonnie Brokke, Director of Parks and Recreation <br />Attachments: A: Comparison chart <br />B.
