Rls�kspvlffi� <br />REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />Date: 4114108 <br />Item No.: 7.1 <br />Department Approval City Manager Approval <br />Item Description: Correction of ordinance Amending Title 10, Chapter 1 002 and 1 005 Pertaining to <br />Pet Boarding and Pet Day Care <br />BACKGROUND <br />On January 14, 2008, the City Council adopted Ordinance #1356 amending Chapters 1002 and 1005 of <br />City Code to redefine the definition of a Dog Kennel and to allow for pet boarding and pet day care as a <br />conditional use permit. The request to change the existing ordinance was due to a request by Pet Smart. <br />The ordinance that was approved on January 14th contained a typographical error in Section 1. Purpose. <br />and referred to the wrong City Code section under Section 2 of the adopted ordinance. The January <br />14t'' ordinance indicated that the City was amending Chapter 1014 (Board of Zoning Adjustments and <br />Appeals) instead of Chapter 1002 (Definitions) and Chapter 1005 (Business Districts) . (See <br />Attachment A) . <br />Staff has prepared an ordinance that refers to the correct chapters that the ordinance will amending. <br />(See Attachment S) <br />FINANCIAL IMPACTS <br />The revised ordinance will need to be published in the City's official newspaper, the Roseville Review, <br />at a cost of $15.75 <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends adoption of the ordinance correcting ordinance No. 1350 as shown in Attachment B <br />of this report. <br />REQUESTED COUNCIL ACTION <br />ADOPT an Ordinance amending Ordinance No. 1356 to correctly refer to City Code Chapters being <br />amended to redefine the definition of Dog Kennels and to allow for pet boarding and pet day care as a <br />conditional use permit in business district. <br />Prepared by: Patrick Trudgeon, Community Development Director (651) 792 -7071 <br />Attachments: A: ordinance 1356, adopted January 18, 2008 <br />B: Proposed ordinance to correct ordinance 1356 <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />
