No. 623 School Board City Manager Malinen reviewed a tentative agenda . for the proposed joint meeting with the District 623 School Board, after prel minary eonsultatiox with the Board Chair and District Superintendent. The agenda included an overview of the Imag- ine Roseville 2025 process, outcomes and subsequent studies; short -term and longer-term facility needs; telecommunication needs and partnerships} based on recent adoption of the City's telecommunications policy and emphasis on inclu- sion of the School District. Discuss-Ion -included whether discussions should include the entire .information technology spectrum or just telecommunications (filer); softer issues, includ.ing demographics, updated student survey information; any cracks in the community regarding supervision of children and youth, or community -wide issues reeding to 'be addressed; the need to have substantive discussions on fewer items, rather than general discussions with no action items; potential for liaisons between the School District and City Council; lack of interest in a review of previous commu- nity center discussions without viable solutions; need to addzess community needs and those served by each or both bodies; conununity goals and objectives; and the need to also hold discussions with hounds view School District Igo. 62 1. Further discussion included the hest use of City Council and School Board meet - ing time; need for good working relationships between the bodies* areas of com- mon interest in the community; and discussions in the context of Imagine Ros -e- ville 2025 and School Board discussion processes. Mayor Klausing suggested that staff pursue those items identified on this agenda; and to alert the School Board to be prepared to discuss those "soft" issues identi- fied by Councilmember p ust.
