• Continue to develop and implement programs and policies that encourage open, honest, <br />and respectful dialogue, feedback and problem solving among the members. <br />• Continue to develop and implement programs that promote respectful, productive and <br />professional communications at all department meetings. <br />• Continue to develop and implement programs that keep members informed of <br />departmental activities and events. <br />• Continue to develop and implement programs and policies that foster an environment <br />Where all members can keep new ideas flowing up and down. <br />• Continue to develop staff skills to improve communications between the fire department <br />and other city departments and outside agencies with whom we have interaction. <br />• Continue to develop and implement programs to maintain and improve communications <br />between the fire department and its customers. <br />Action Plan <br />AP 3.23 Divisions will work in a cooperative fashion to ensure that employees are receiving all <br />pertinent information they need to do a quality j ob. Publish agendas prior to meetings and post <br />minutes after meetings to assist in all employees receiving consistent information. PRIORITY <br />3. <br />AP 3.240perations Division shall design and implement hardware, software, and SOGs for <br />wireless MDT, LED displays and printers ( "Rip & Run ") in each fire station to transmit <br />emergency call information. PRIORITY 4. <br />AP 3.25 Administration Division will conduct periodic surveys of the employees to determine <br />their level of approval and satisfaction with the performance of administration and use this tool <br />to provide feedback for improvement. PRIORITY 2. <br />AP 3.25 All Divisions will collaborate to prepare and distribute a comprehensive annual report <br />of fire department activities to all employees, city administration, and interested citizens. <br />PRIORITY 3. <br />AP 3.27 Monthly staff meetings will be held to discuss issues, gain consensus, and develop <br />administrative, operational and training goals and objectives. PRIORITY 2. <br />Taking care of our firefighters <br />The ability to serve as a firefighter is a gift. Being able to help others during times of great <br />personal tragedy is the reward. Firefighters do what many are not able to do... and what many <br />more are not willing to do. our family of brother and sister firefighters extends nationally, if not <br />worldwide. There is a great mutual admiration among our peers for the many sacrifices we <br />make. We are part of an elite family, and like every family, we have our ups and downs, our <br />good days and our bad days. We don't always agree and we don't always like each other. But at <br />the core of our existence, there is a bond that holds us together. As our department experiences <br />growth and changes, we much recognize the contributions of our employees and assist them in <br />29 <br />
