Councilmember Kough spoke to the <br />increase in fees for residents, and expressed preference that <br />any profits from the revenue- sharing be returned to residents or <br />rates reduced. <br />Mr. Miller referenced previous council discussion at the <br />e- ptember 18 and October 16, 2Do6 council meetings; <br />presentations by staff and representatives of Eureka Recycling; <br />and council - majority approval of expanding services for weekly <br />collection, without immediate cost to residents and cost of <br />additional services to be taken from revenue sharing funds, Mr. <br />Miller noted that residents would pay the same fee in 2007 as <br />they were paring in 2006. <br />Klausing moved, Pust seconded, approval of an amendment to <br />the existing contract between the city of Roseville and Eureka <br />Recycling, switching to weekly collection per the terms of the <br />recycling contract; and to add aseptic and gable top packaging <br />to the list of materials collected, at a cost not to exceed $0,05 <br />per household per month. <br />councilmernber Irian spoke in support of the motion, based on <br />the additional information provided by staff and Eureka at <br />previous meetings; opining that it was a good service and an <br />environmentally and economically effective proposal, and <br />anticipated additional material collection, in addition to the new <br />aseptic packaging materials applicable for collection. <br />Roll call <br />Ayes: Maschka; Ihlan; Pust and Klausing. <br />Nays; Kough. <br />3.1 Approve a New Benefit Pair Plan for the Fire Relief Resolution 10442 <br />Association <br />New Benefit Pay <br />At the request of Mayor Klausing, Mr. Miller reviewed the Plan for the Fire <br />Request for council Action dated October 23, 2006, providing Relief Association <br />Page 7 of 27 <br />http://www.cl.rosevl*lle.m, n.us/council/m-eetings/minutes/2006/mno6lo23.htm 1 1/27/2006 <br />
