Lauderdale, eliminating this issue for the City. Staff is working on agreements with Lauderdale and
Paper Calmenson so that this can sewer line can be constructed in 2009.
The State held one public information meeting on September 24, 2008, for this project. The meeting
was well attended. The majority of the comments received at the open house were in support of the
continued closure of County Road B. Comments received from the meeting were included in the
council packet for the public hearing. Mn /DoT and staff will respond to these comments during the
Public Hearing presentation.
POLICY OBJECTIVE
Since this is a state project that eliminates access to the City of Roseville, the state is required to obtain
municipal consent. That is the purpose of the public hearing.
FINANCIAL IMPACTS
The roadway project as proposed has no direct financial impact to the City of Roseville. However, the
County has indicated that they intend to initiate discussions to turnback County Road B when it is
permanently disconnected from TH280. If the road is turned back, it would become the City's
responsibility for maintenance.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Approve by resolution, State Project No: 6241 -57R- Trunk Highway 280 reconstruction (between
County Road S and Broadway Ave)
REQUESTED COUNCIL ACTION
Approve by resolution, State Project No: 6241 -57R- Trunk Highway 280 reconstruction (between
County Road S and Broadway Ave)
Prepared by: Debra Bloom, City Engineer
Attachment A: Resolution
