ORIGINATING DEPT./D1 <br />Reports & Recommendations Adm <br />MEETING 6-22-81 <br />DATE: <br />9CIM <br />The Metropolitan Council is seeking the City's part icipati on in a Moderate <br />Rehabilitation Program. The program is designed to work in conjunction with <br />the Rental Assistance Program that the City currently participates <br />Under the program owners of property <br />Program participants may be eligible <br />*f rehabating rental units which <br />components in need of repair. Units <br />then be rented to the low and moder& <br />Rental Assistance.. <br />that provide housing to Rental Assistance-A; <br />to receive low cost loans for the purpose <br />are substandard or have major building <br />or bungs receiving such loans must <br />te income renters eligible for Section 8 <br />In order to pafticipate, the City must pass a resolution authorizing same. <br />5 <br />Metropolitan Council would then advertise and administer the program. The Cit <br />would then be reimbursed for the inspections similar to what is done in the <br />Rental Assistance Program, I <br />Attached is a reso I wtion the Council may adopt to authorize participation in the <br />program. <br />0 <br />Council Action Requested: Motion adopting a resolution authorizing <br />the City to participate in the Section 4 <br />Moderate Rehabilitation Program. <br />
