I <br />Rationale: According to the 2 0 10 census, almost one/third of Roseville residents are <br />renters. Other communities such as Hopkins have programs targeted specifically to <br />engaN, e renters living in the community with the city government. For a model, ref <br />to the city of Hopkins Raspberry Renters program. <br />111ecommendations for Implementation* <br />a) The city should work with apartment complexes to gather electronic and postal <br />addresses of renters for notification purposes. <br />b) The city should work with business rental property owners to gather electronic and <br />postal addresses of rental businesses for notification purposes. <br />0 The city should develop a plan to actively seek out the rental community and provide <br />them with notification related to planning issues, <br />d) The city should notify renters and business centers of all zoning matters in the same <br />fashion that property owners are currently noed. <br />in 3) Engagement of Residents Residing Non-Single Family Homes <br />3,1 Proposed Policy Intent or Practice: The city should develop and utilize strategies <br />to engage citizens residing in non-singlefamily homes such as condos, town homes, <br />co-ops and assisted ng facilities. <br />rl�ationale: Much like with the rental population, it is often difficult to reach residents - <br />who live in non-sigle family homes. By invesfing in stronger relationships with <br />these residents, we can increase their level of civic engagement and make them more <br />satisfied with the resources the city has to offer. This could be modeled in a manner <br />very similar to the program developed to engage Roseville renters. <br />Recommendations for Implementation: <br />a) The city should work with condo, co-op and townhome associations as well as <br />assisted living facilities to gather electronic and postal addresses of residents for <br />b) The city should develop a plan to actively seek out those living in non-single <br />family housing and provide them with notification related to planning issues. <br />c) The city should notify those living in non-single family homes of all zoning <br />changes in the same fashion that other property owners are notified. <br />4) Provide Public Participation Training & Develop/Share Resources <br />
