<br />EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City <br />Council of the City of Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota was duly <br />held on the 23rd day of January, 1989, at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />The following members were present: Matson, Cushman, Johnson, Kehr, <br />and Rog, and the following were absent: None. <br /> <br />Member Cushman introduced the following resolution and moved its <br />adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 8401 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION REGARDING VOLUNTEER COMMISSION APPOINTMENTS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Roseville City Council adopted Resolution No. 6112 on <br />June 24, 1974, Resolution No. 6636 on April 10, 1978, and Resolution <br />No. 6950 on May 12, 1980, regarding the appointment procedures to <br />Advisory Boards, Commissions, and Committees; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Council wishes to alter the appointment procedure; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Resolutions No. 6112, 6636, and <br />6950 are rescinded. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council adopt the following <br />resolution as a statement of policy in regard to the above named <br />procedure. <br /> <br />One hundred and twenty (120) days prior to expiration of a <br />term on any Roseville Board, Commission, or Committee, the <br />Council shall be advised of the pending vacancy and the <br />attendance record of the individual whose term is expiring, <br />should that individual be eligible for reappointment. The <br />Council will also be provided with written comments from the <br />Chairman of the Commission reqardinq the reappointment of the <br />individual. At that time, the Council will consider the <br />reappointment of that individual. <br /> <br />Should the Council determine that the individual merits <br />reappointment, that person will be contacted to determine if <br />he/she wishes to seek reappointment. If the incumbent does <br />seek reappointment, the Council will consider that reappoint- <br />ment at the first regular Council meeting after ninety (90) <br />days prior to the expiration of the term. <br /> <br />Should the incumbent not wish to be reappointed, or should <br />the Council determine that the individual does not merit <br />reappointment, the Council will announce the vacancy and that <br />applications will be accepted from all interested citizens of <br />Roseville ninety (90) days prior to the expiration of the <br />term. The appointment will then be made at the first regular <br />Council meeting after thirty (30) days prior to the expira- <br />tion of the term. <br />
