EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE * * * * * * * * * * * Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota was duly held on the 23rd day of January, 1989, at 7:30 p.m. The following members were present: Matson, Cushman, Johnson, Kehr, and Rog, and the following were absent: None. Member Cushman introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 8401 RESOLUTION REGARDING VOLUNTEER COMMISSION APPOINTMENTS WHEREAS, the Roseville City Council adopted Resolution No. 6112 on June 24, 1974, Resolution No. 6636 on April 10, 1978, and Resolution No. 6950 on May 12, 1980, regarding the appointment procedures to Advisory Boards, Commissions, and Committees; and WHEREAS, the Council wishes to alter the appointment procedure; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Resolutions No. 6112, 6636, and 6950 are rescinded. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council adopt the following resolution as a statement of policy in regard to the above named procedure. One hundred and twenty (120) days prior to expiration of a term on any Roseville Board, Commission, or Committee, the Council shall be advised of the pending vacancy and the attendance record of the individual whose term is expiring, should that individual be eligible for reappointment. The Council will also be provided with written comments from the Chairman of the Commission reqardinq the reappointment of the individual. At that time, the Council will consider the reappointment of that individual. Should the Council determine that the individual merits reappointment, that person will be contacted to determine if he/she wishes to seek reappointment. If the incumbent does seek reappointment, the Council will consider that reappoint- ment at the first regular Council meeting after ninety (90) days prior to the expiration of the term. Should the incumbent not wish to be reappointed, or should the Council determine that the individual does not merit reappointment, the Council will announce the vacancy and that applications will be accepted from all interested citizens of Roseville ninety (90) days prior to the expiration of the term. The appointment will then be made at the first regular Council meeting after thirty (30) days prior to the expira- tion of the term.
