As you all know, the Hoffman Electric Company has purchased the westerly
f ive lots of the block north of the Trunk Highway 36 Frontage Road and
east of Fulham Street. The initial purchase did not include a single
family homesite in the northwest corner of the proposed site. Inasmuch
as -this home was on a relatively small lot, leaving this property out of
the proposed development could have left this homeowner in a precarious
position. This apparently was simply a case where the homeowner desired
to continue to live there because he worked in the-area,, During discussions
with Mr. Hoffman and his colleagues these past months, we have encouraged
I p
him to continue to try to acquire this property in the interest of the
homeowner, Hoffman Electric, and the City.
This week at our most recent meeting with Hoffman Electric representatives,
they were pleased to announce that they have now acquired this property,
having made extensive efforts to relocate this owner in another residence
in Roseville. Thus, the property now consists of a tract of 5.24 acres,
being a rectangle with 500 feet of frontage on Trunk Highway 36 rrontage
Road, and a depth of 459.54 feet,
2, Attached is a statement from Dick Hoffman, Chairman of the Board of
Hoffman Electric generally describing their company and purpose in moving
to Roseville. Also attached is a brochure describing the company
operations. Enclosed within the brochure are reduced copies of the proposed
site plan, landscape plan, and elevation of the proposed buildings.
3. During these past months, we have had many meetings with Mr. Hoffman aired
his colleagues, the architectes (Robert Pope Associates), and their
engineering consultant. They have been extremely cooperative and helpful
in adjusting their plans to conform to the B-4 development requirements
and obviously have a sincere intent to produce a fine structure an the
site.
