CASE NUMBER: 1384
APPLICANT: School District 623
Page 3
5. In any case, it would appear that positive consideration should be given to
the location as proposed inasmuch as it best suits the needs of the
senior citizens, and will have the least impact on contiguous single family
development. It would, of course, be physically passible to construct a
berm, a hedge, a low fence, or a heavy timber rail on posts, say a foot or
two off the ground, so as to prevent automobiles from entering the playficld
area from this parking lot during hours of its operation. This expense
may not be necessary, however, inasmuch as it would appear that the problem
of cars driving on the plafield areas occurs late at might when the new
parking facility could be locked,
6, Mr. Borg, Business Representative from the School District, has indicated
that representatives of the senior citizens organization will be present
to present their views at the Planning Commission and Council hearings.
We antic-.pate the results of the soil tests on the land contiguous to
County Road B to also be available. Judging from the vast overflow parking
problem that has been appa r erg t this past year, , i t would appear that the
additional parking facility i s much needed. The location as proposed may
well be the best solution,
A petition signed by area senior citizens stating the need for more parking
has been attached to this report,
