-2-
V977-14 - Lexington Avenue North of E:arpenteur,, when the City 4
acquired
easements across the Shopping Center operated by Imo'. Argolis on the west
side of Lexington, the easement agreement called for only a $1.00 payment
to the owner; This was in the expectation that the assessment of that
parcel would be deferred until such time as being connected to this line.
Such a situation had been indicated to Mr. Mar lis 6s pxd:)ab1e when the
hearing was originally held. The cost of constructing inn tie waterin across
Lexington Avenue itself is not included as assessable to any property, but
is proposed as a water system ewe for moving the system. All that. work
on the east side of Lexington, however, around the shopping center, along
Larpenteur,, was requested by the shopping center owner in lieu of doing the
work himself as he had organally proposed# This work on the east side is
in addition to the original hearing and will be chaff loo % to that property
miner alone .
W-77-25 - Watermain worth of Inxio Road for Har Mar Apartments. The cuner
of the apartments will, in all probabllmty, oppose the asses ents as not being
necessary or net totally serving his property, As you recall,, these Jzprovemnts
are primarily the result of requests from the Fire Deparbment based on the large
ner of mans and hazards involved. They serve no other properties. axed,
therefore, are assessable only against this one owner. The sex finer indicated
to staff that he is not satisfied with the repair 'work done, but several investi-
gations have lead the staff to conclude that the repair is in a .: higher quality
than the original existing lot.'
SS- Try -P-77- 27 - Transit, n2TLrid Marion This project has several different
assessrrent rates. The ektrerne easterly end near Rioe was a 9 ton design to
ac to the conraerci al developmnt that was anticipated and indeed is ncw
taking place. The north side of the . ad., ad' acent to Mr. Cave's development,
was assessed at the full cost of ridge and Marion and for one half of
Transit where it abutts the s di s ion . The existing single fai ly lit at
the west end of the impront is being assessed only the 22% F for
half of Transit Avenue,
ST-78-14 - Dellwood and Lase Place area. The railroad adj acmt to County
Road C has been included in the assessment notices on the project. This is
the first tirre the City has assessed railroad. property - for storm drainage
0
mProvemnts, They obviously have water that flows off their right-of-way and
into the Fronts and according to our City Attorney are assessable i a
manner solar to any other property owner.
SS--W-P` 77- 4 -- Oxford Street Water, There are three corner lots facing Shryer
and Ryan which recei d notices for 25 feet of assessment on the water main
The City policy calls for such an assessment, but the Council has usually
dropped this type of assessment when the lots are already served from the
frontage street.
