<br /> <br />Background <br /> <br />Metro Transit currently operates a Park & Ride and Transit Center at Rosedale Shopping Center. There <br />are 10 local and 2 express routes that serve riders at these stops. Rosedale Center is planning an <br />expansion that impacts the location of the current bus staging area and passenger waiting facilities. <br /> <br />The primary objective of this research is to learn more about those currently using bus service at the <br />Rosedale Transit Center and the Rosedale Park & Ride to help assist Rosedale Shopping Center, the <br />City of Roseville, and Metro Transit agree on a new bus staging area, passenger waiting facility, and <br />park and ride. A survey was conducted to obtain information from current transit users. <br /> <br />Specific objectives include the following: <br /> <br />· To determine the main purpose for transit riders' trips. <br />· To determine the number of riders employed at Rosedale Shopping Center. <br />· To determine the number of riders who shop at Rosedale Shopping Center as part of their trip and, <br />if so, how much was spent. <br />· To know how frequently riders use the bus and which route(s) they ride from the Rosedale <br />Shopping Center. <br />· To collect demographic information on riders. <br /> <br />
