The Chair administered the oath to Youth Commissioners Joan <br />Dao and Kayo Kadir. <br />Rather than calling the roll, Chair Gary Grefenberg asked commissioners and staff to introduce <br />themselves. He noted that many of the commissioners were newly a�pointed, and encoura_ged <br />especiallv the new Youth Coinmissioners to participate full in the Commission's discussions. <br />Approve Minutes of November 16, 2011 <br />Chair Grefenberg distributed his recommendations to amend the minutes and asked that approval of <br />the minutes be delayed to the end of the meeting so commissioners would get a chance to review <br />them. <br />r .� <br />Report of the Chair <br />Chair Grefenberg reviewed his report, explaining that since the Commission was going to discuss <br />the Strategic Plan, the meeting date was changed to accommodate all commissioners' schedules. <br />Chair Grefenberg said he included the Chair's Draft as a starting point for the discussion. <br />He noted that the Commission will consider changing the regular meeting date since Commissioner <br />Kaying Thao was recently elected to the School Board and the Board's regularly scheduled <br />meetings conflicted with the HRC's meeting date. <br />Chair Grefenberg congratulated Commissioner Kristin Doneen and Commissioner Wayne Groff for <br />their recent reappointments to full terms. <br />Outreach Committee <br />Commissioner Groff said he had talked with the chair of the Falcon Heights Human Rights <br />Commission. They are interested in working together. He said they had a meeting scheduled for <br />Monday, January 23 with Human Rights Commission members from Shoreview, Falcon Heights <br />and Maplewood. He encouraged the youth commissioners to attend the meeting. <br />
