A variance to the requirement to provide a sidewalk extending from <br />the carner of Commerce Street and Albert Street along the west side <br />of Albert to Highway 36. <br />2. A variance to the numb�r of �arking spaces required an the site. <br />3. A variance io reduce the prescribed size of parking stails for a <br />limited n�amber of parking spaces to provide preferred parking areas <br />to those employees driving compact cars, <br />4. Approval to cons�ruct the parking �ot additian in iwo phases. <br />General Informat�on <br />The State Farm North Central Regiona1 Office, one of twenty-four regiona] <br />offices, was original7y constructed as a b8,440 square �eet bui�ding in <br />1955. The bui1ding was expanded by 35,338 square feet in 1969 to it's <br />present size of 103,778 square feet. The fac�7ity currently houses 581 <br />emp]oyees. <br />A new twa-story building containing an additianal 99,848 square feet and <br />located on six acres of vacant land to the east of the present b�ilding <br />is now being planned. The upper leve] of the new buiiding will be ' <br />connected to the existing buiiding by a self-suppoxted passageway over <br />the existing utiiity easement.
