Thi5 pefiition c�ras <br />s'sgned by the owner of this vacant Iand of 6 assessable 1ots. 7wa other poten-- <br />tentially assessable lots are on the east side af 1Jestern Avenue. This results <br />in the petition being 75% signed. <br />0 <br />f3ecause of the existance of a piece of right of way and roadmix pavement between <br />Sandhu`rst Drive and T.H.36, it is alsa recommended that a pu6lic hearing be held <br />to vacate that portion between T.H. 36 ar�d Sandhurst Drive. bJi.th the develop- <br />ment of the piat, kna�rn as Stemper N�ights, construction of a cul de sac is pre- <br />cluded and, there'Fa�e, tfiis portion of the roadway wa�ld not meet Gity standards. <br />The remaining portion of 4lestern between Sandhurst and County Road B is proposed <br />to be impraved as part of this project. <br />At in th� case af the �lat petitioned for at the last council meet?ng at Josephine <br />Road and �exington, it is the .recommendation o� the,Public Warks DeparCment <br />that a cvnsultant be utilized because of time �.manpower limitations. A proposal <br />from tf�e consulting fi rm of Short, Eil iott and Hendrictcson has i�een presented for <br />undertaking this work and it is felt that it is in fihe best interests of t€�e city. <br />RECQt1MENDED ACT I QN : <br />(1) 1ldoption of a resolution declaring the adequacy, of a petition <br />for providing the necessary utilifiies and Qavemerst to develop the vatant land <br />west of lJestern Avenue between Highway 3b and Caunty Road 6 identified a� <br />Project SS--W-P-7�3-7 anc! ordering the preparativn of a feasibij'sty report. <br />2� Adoption of a motion to autF�orize the nayar and the manager to <br />sign �n agreement with t�e consuiting firm of Short, Eliiot[ and F{endrickson <br />ta aici in the engin�ering of this project. <br />3) Apps'oval of a motion requesting the Planning Commissian to <br />reviww a possibility of vacating a proportion of lJester� Avenue between Sandhurst <br />and T.H.36 <br />
