Senior population z33% from Roseville (2010 Census data sex and age 55-z85)
b. Current budget:City of Roseville contributes$6000/year towards senior transportation in the
form of the RASP Shuttlebug Bus. $60004$39,236,435 x 100 = 0.015%
i. Observation: RASP serves ISD623, not ISD621, therefore part of Roseville is excluded
from any subsidized service.
c. Conclusion: senior programming is seriously underfunded and attenuated.
Recommendations to CC, including, but not limited to
• additional, substantive contribution to NSSC for use in support of RASP and other senior programs
• establish and support senior-relevant Roseville city-sponsored forums
o see attachment-draft proposal: Senior-relevant Rsvl city-sponsored forums
• provide access to official Roseville website for NSSC- and RASP-identified links and/or brief notices for
seniors
o e.g.: links to NSSC and RASP through Quick Links and For Residents
o on official Roseville city website: highlight monthly feature on senior issues
• e.g. latest scams targeting seniors
• commit continuing financial and in-kind support(printing, distribution, Roseville web site access)for
senior resource guide—hard copies
• commit financial support for construction of senior resource guide web pages, as needed
• provide support(financial and staff), as requested, for additional programming under development
o caregiver workshops
o retrofit workshops
• direct Rsvl city staff to attend to urban design issues for seniors
o Inclusive Urban Design: Streets for Life
2.
