It a7so appears that tne amo�nt of t,he materials <br />to be rep7aced nay nat be as expensive as wa$ origina7ly thought and that this <br />wou7d reduce someR�rhat the amount to� be dea7t with. <br />The contracior ha� agreed ta remove approximately ]4a0 cubic yards of mat4ria1 <br />and v��aste it on the private property at ti�e job site at a cost of $Q.75 (75�j <br />per yard or a total of $1,050.00. I� the r�p7acer�ent sand can be obtained from <br />t��e jo� 5i'��� th� es�imated 2100 cubic yards of sand couid be obtained, spread <br />and compacted at a cost of �D.62 {62�} per yard or a total of �15302.�0. �'his <br />evould give a grand total for Change Ordqr ido. 5 of �2,352.Q0. Op for bri ngi ng i n new sand ti�r��i ch woul d brz ng the grand total to <br />�4,620.00. <br />It wauld appear that the best solu-�ion would be to use the sand from site by ob- <br />tai n-� ng easerrients fror� the o:vr�ers i nvvl ved, thereby sav� ng everyo�e expense, <br />t3rr�e and e�Ffort. It is 5�i�� anticipated that this 4�rork Mrould be und�rta�:en this <br />fal l, ai tl�ough the co�struci.i on of curb and gutter and �avi ��g rroui d not be done <br />untii next sgring. This wauld allo��r any compaction or frost heave that �nay occur <br />�o take place ti�rithout causing undue damag� and �o be rectified next spr�ng for <br />th� permanent surface improvements that �rauld be added. <br />The contractor has also rec�uested that due to the strikes and delays in wraiting <br />for sP�i prr�ents o'F catc� basi n casti ngs , that a 45-day extensi on be added to t{�e <br />rer�ainder of the contract to bring the ne4r c�mpletion date to Sept. 24, 7975. �he <br />Farrinc��on St. camoletion date of t€�is portion of the projec� tirou7d be a7tered to <br />J�ne �5, 1976. <br />RECOF�P�1ENDED ACiI�J;d : Approva7 of Change 4rd�r �lo. 5 for the 1975 Pavi ng and Uti 7 i ti es <br />Improvei��ents totaling �2,352.00.
