<br />Regular City Council Meeting - 01/26/04 <br />Page 23 <br /> <br />public, and work toward decision-making <br /> <br />Mayor Klausing opined his lack of concern as to whether the <br />appointee would run in the upcoming Special Election, <br />recognizing their right to do so. Mayor Klausing provided his <br />personal first choice was Amy Ihlan, given her strong candidacy <br />in the community during the fall election process; with his <br />second choice being Tammy Pust. <br /> <br />Councilmember Kough provided his personal preferences for the <br />appointee: 1) Tammy Pust; 2) Doug Wilke; and 3) John <br />Goedeke, given his previous work on the Twin Lakes <br />Development project. <br /> <br />Councilmember Schroeder summarized the questions he had <br />asked during individual interview sessions related to his <br />preference for an eleven-week caretaker-type position; and <br />whether or not they would consider bringing back the Ethics <br />Commission. Councilmember Schroeder noted that one of his <br />evaluating criteria was any ties to existing Councilmembers, <br />preferring autonomy; as well as the years of residency in the <br />community, preferring at least ten (10) years. Councilmember <br />Schroeder's personal preferences for appointee were: 1) Dan <br />Roe; 2) Doug Wilke; and 3) Tammy Pust. <br /> <br />Mayor Klausing polled the Council as to anyone's willingness to <br />change their first ranking; with no Councilmember coming <br />forward to do so. <br /> <br />Councilmember Schroeder expressed his disapproval of Amy <br />Ihlan as an appointee, citing her campaign focus on a single <br />issue, the Twin Lakes Redevelopment, as well as her short length <br />of residency in the community. <br /> <br />Mayor Klausing called for further comment or discussion, with <br />none forthcoming. <br /> <br />Schroeder moved, Kough seconded appointment of Tammy Pust <br />to fill the temporary Council vacancy until at least April 11, <br />2004. <br />
